1939 MONTANA SPORT has been founded in Lucerne by Alfred Müller.


1950 MONTANA POPULO MOHAIR skins with straps for mounting have been sold to the sport dealers.


1960 First MONTANA mounting bench for the mounting of steel edges on skis.


1963 MONTANA is selling worldwide the first self adhesive climbing skins.


1964 Production and sale of ski base presses.


1965 First belt sander with dust exhausting system – dry.


1970 Ski presses for production of 2 pair of skis.


1972 First belt sander with water cooling system.


1973 First P-TEX repair pistola using PE-pellets


1976 First stone grinder for ski service.  


1980 CRYSTAL GLIDE FINISH is registered worldwide as a synonym of a perfectly tuned ski.  


1983 First base edge bevel machine GM/K.


1986 First stone grinding robot AS II (today still in operation).


1990 MONTANA moves from Hergiswil to Stans in to the actual building.


1992 MBA-PS parallel-grinding robot for 2 skis or 1 snowboard.


1994 MODULAR-grinding robot with structuring programs. 1997 already over 100 of these robots sold worldwide.


1995 HTT – High Tech Tuning has been integrated in to the MODULAR robot. This has optimized the ski preparation 
        considerably. So called ski gurus said: „this is a new generation in ski tuning“.


1996 MONTANA offers to the sport dealers the first perfect solution for the preparation of carving skis.


1999 The first high speed robot CRYSTAL SPIRIT has been introduced to the market. The capacity per hour is 40 – 
        55 pair of skis.


2000 MODULAR ENERGY robot has been introduced to the market. Hour capacity is 32 – 44 pair of skis.


2001 The robot SNOW CRUISER will be shown at ISPO in Munich. Capacity per hour is 20 – 30 pair of skis or 
        snowboards.


2002 A new manual edge bevelling machine for skis and snowboards has been developed with the HTT DUAL 
        FINISH SYSTEM. The chip system for grinding robots has been shown for the first time at the MONTANA booth 
        in Munich.  


2003 SNOW CRUISER SB HTT with bevelling system for skis and snowboards.


2004 The line of robots with the pneumatic pressure curve system has been increased by adding the SNOW 
        STAR.  


2005 The robots SNOW CHALLENGE and SPIRIT 100 have been presented at ISPO 05 in Munich. The SPIRIT 100 with 
        an hourly output of over 100 pair of skis is one of the fastest robot in the world with 4 stone contacts.



2006 Crystal Diamond starts a new era in the MONTANA family:

        not only brilliant technique, but also a great design, a real beauty...



2007 Jetbond binding tester is part of the MONTANA family and the Saphir is brought to the market



2008 Wax Future is presented, waxing technology without touching the base



2009 Crystal Edge, the new semi automatic edge grinder is presented



MONTANA has a complete machine program for service amounts of 1500 to 60 000 pairs of ski per season and workshop.
